Obtain your high school diploma, learn English, develop job skills or discover a new career path. The Adult Education Center offers programs for GED preparation, English as a Second Language and Adult Basic Education that prepare you for a better future.

We offer full preparation for the GED test. Passing the GED exam will result in obtaining a Kansas Board of Regents High School Diploma.

  • New classes begin every six weeks
  • Enrollment and orientation session required
  • Classes and skills testing are free (Excluding GED exam)
  • $30 supply fee (covers 1 year of enrollment)
  • Bilingual Staff (Spanish/English)
  • Evening classes and online/hybrid classes available

Adults in our English as a Second Language program practice English in a variety of ways, which help them connect new knowledge with what they already know and apply it to real life situations. Learning is done in real life contexts based on adult's purposes and goals. ESL learners focus on understanding English through a variety of activities, which include reading, writing and conversation. Guest speakers from the community provide information about life and employment in the United States. The computer lab is available for ESL learners and is equipped with a variety of Internet resources and educational software to enrich their learning experience. We also offer instruction to assist in obtaining Citizenship.

Los estudiantes de Inglés como Segundo Lenguaje se enfocan en entender Inglés a través de una variedad de actividades, la cual incluye lectura, escritura y conversación. Invitados de la comunidad proveen información acerca de la vida y empleos en los Estados Unidos. El laboratorio de computación está disponible para los estudiantes de Inglés. Dicho laboratorio está equipado con una amplia variedad de recursos en la Internet y programas de computación educacionales para enriquecer la experiencia de aprendizaje de nuestros estudiantes de Inglés. También ofrecemos asistencia en obtener la ciudadanía.

Adult Basic Education skills, along with reading, writing and math, are taught to assist students with entry into GED classes and/or post-secondary education, and Job preparation.
